The opportunity given to me, by the scholarship I received to attend Sacred Heart College Geelong, and the education the College provided, has profoundly changed my life, and the life of my family, for without this beginning all the
other steps along the way,of educational and professional opportunities, would not have been possible.
My life has been enriched by that scholarship, giving me opportunities of which I would never have been able to dream.

Equity Scholarship Program
As the largest Catholic girls’ school in Geelong, we continue to uphold the vision and guiding principles of our foundress, Catherine McAuley.
Catherine believed in the education of women. She appreciated the unique contribution they were capable of making on behalf of society and she wanted to empower them – in whatever sphere they found themselves – to affect a shift towards a more just society.
Celebrating 160+ years of Mercy education, Sacred Heart College Geelong still seeks to provide greater learning opportunities for those in need through our Equity Scholarship Program.

The Cecilia Circle
In October 2022, the College launched the Cecilia Circle Bequest Program and proudly announced the Poynton Family as the new patrons.
This program honours the legacy and service of Sr Ita.
